The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s Governing Board on Tuesday introduced Rob Marsh as its new CEO & Executive Director in a significant step toward the museum’s future. Additionally, the Hall of Fame presented the charities of the 2024 Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Hiland Dairy checks totaling more than $325,000.
An accomplished and visionary leader, Marsh brings a wealth of experience, as his achievements in 27 years with Springfield-based Pyramid Foods – which runs Price Cutter Supermarkets — have prepared him to lead the Hall into a new era of success, ensuring its continued relevance and growth.
In his role as CEO, he also will oversee the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Hiland Dairy, one of 26 professional golf tournaments on the Korn Ferry Tour. He takes over on Jan. 6, with interim CEO & Executive Director Jerald Andrews to remain in a consulting role through most of 2025. The Hall of Fame, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, opened in 1994 in Springfield.
“As a long-time member of our board, Rob has invaluable insight into the operations of the Hall of Fame and the PCCC Tournament,” Hall of Fame Chairman Dan Nelson said. “His business acumen and relationships in the community will be instrumental in our organization’s future success. Our board’s unanimous approval of his appointment reflects our full confidence in Rob’s leadership. We couldn’t be more fortunate than to have Rob’s leadership as we move forward.”
Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin echoed Nelson’s statement.
“On behalf of the Korn Ferry Tour, we would like to congratulate Rob on his new role and we look forward to working with him and his team at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame to continue building on the success and legacy of the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Hiland Dairy Foods,” Baldwin said. “With Rob’s leadership and the support of committed partners like Price Cutter and Hiland Dairy Foods, we know the tournament will continue making a positive impact in the Springfield community and with local charities for years to come.”
Marsh expressed excitement and a clear-eyed vision on the road ahead.
“I am ready to tackle this job and cannot wait to get started. The Hall of Fame has been successful for so long, and I am excited to keep it going – and build on the success of the past 30 years,” Marsh said. “It’s going to take rolling up our sleeves and getting to work, and that’s what I have known my whole life.”
Marsh is a 1991 Kickapoo High School graduate who is in his 27th year with Price Cutter Supermarkets, a corporate sponsor of the Hall of Fame. Since 2004, he has been the company’s primary link for the Price Cutter tournament, which has gifted more than $20.5 million to Ozarks charities since 1990.
Over that time, Marsh has strengthened the relationship between the company and the tournament, which is managed by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Having previously worked for Smitty’s and Albertson’s, Marsh has risen from Assistant Manager within Price Cutter to a number of roles: Manager of the Price Cutter at Kansas Expressway and Grand Avenue, District Manager, Director of Planning & Development, Director of Operations and Vice President of Sales & Merchandising. He has been named by Supermarket News as a Supermarket Rising Leader and a 40 Under 40 by the Springfield Business Journal.
Hall of Fame presents checks to PCCC charities
Andrews met with representatives of the Price Cutter Charity Championship’s charities on Tuesday, handing them checks to reimburse their up-front entry into the tournament.
“All of our charities have incredibly important missions, and we want to make sure to help as best we can,” Andrews said. “We are still working diligently to provide all that they are due, based on our understandings.”
Stone, Frieda earn PCCC volunteer awards
Colleen Stone of Champion Athletes of the Ozarks was named the Judy Weekley Volunteer of the Year, and Frank Reida was honored as the Volunteer of the Week.
Sharon Alexander, the Volunteer Chair, presented their awards.
Of Stone, Alexander said, “She has been an integral part of the tournament for many years, working tirelessly to ensure her team prepares the food for the volunteers. Her duties are not limited to tournament week; her team is onsite at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame organizing, preparing and assisting with food packets and other things relating to all of the pro-am tournaments. This year, as many years before, she went above and beyond her duties by working closely with the team preparing food for the public and volunteers.”
Of Frieda, Alexander said, “He has been involved with the tournament for many years. He spends most of his time as a marshal, visiting with the players, caddies and spectators. He exhibits the best example of voluntary action to enhance everyone’s experience at the tournament. He signs up for every day and is the first person to ask, ‘Where do you need help today?’ He always has a smile on his face and is eager to hit the course to socialize with everyone.”
