Fall & winter sports finalists announced for Sports Commission Awards presented by Elliott Lodging

The 2025-2026 high school sports year in southwest Missouri will be celebrated again this summer, as the 14th annual Sports Commission Awards presented by Elliott Lodging are set for Tuesday, June 16 at one of the coolest venues in the Ozarks – the Gillioz Theatre in downtown Springfield.

The event is run by the Springfield Sports Commission in partnership with the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, marking their ninth year tag-teaming the ceremony. In essence, nearly 250 student-athletes and 10 teams will be recognized during a program that begins at 7 PM on June 16 at the Gillioz, 325 Park Central Square East.

All finalists are chosen by a selection committee. Spring sports will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are excited to honor our area athletes in a unique setting at the historic Gillioz Theatre in downtown Springfield,” said Lance Kettering, Executive Director of the Springfield Sports Commission. “We think the  venue will make for a stunning venue to recognize our athletes in a theatre-style setting. We are most grateful to our long-time title sponsor, Elliott Lodging, who has been our title sponsor since inception. It is also an honor to continue to work together with the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in honoring these athletes, who someday may become a Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Inductee!”

Rob Marsh, CEO & Executive Director of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, emphasized the importance of high school sports.

“The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is proud to celebrate high school athletes and teams who were among the best in southwest Missouri this past school year,” Marsh said. “We believe youth and high school sports are a great way to develop children and teens and ready them for the real world.”
