Jackie Stiles was born in Kansas City, KS and was raised in Claflin, KS. Stiles finished her prep career as the leading scorer in Kansas history, boys and girls, with 3,603 points and 10th nationally among female high school players.

Stiles made the decision to become a Lady Bear at Southwest Missouri State University. She made an immediate impact as a freshman earning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week three times during the season and leading the conference in scoring. As a sophomore, Stiles continued to lead the Lady Bear attack. She led the conference in scoring and was named to the MVC All-Conference First Team and the MVC Tournament All-Tournament Team. Stiles truly began drawing widespread national attention as a junior. With a 27.8 per game scoring average, she led the entire nation in point production. Stiles participated on the USA Basketball Jones Cup Team that won the gold medal. Jackie’s storied senior season was highlighted by a trip to the Division I Women’s NCAA Final Four in St. Louis and becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s history with 3,393 points.

Stiles was drafted by the Portland Fire as the #4 overall pick in the 2001 WNBA Draft. She earned Player of the Week honors after averaging 22 points on 54% shooting. Jackie was named to the 2001 WNBA All-Star Team and was named the league’s Rookie of the Year.
