Fair Grove High School seniors Spensar Seiger and Brooke Daniels swept the Athlete of the Year categories, and the winning Teams of the Year belonged to Fair Grove Volleyball and Nixa Football in the Sports Commission Awards presented by Elliott Lodging.
Held at the Gillioz Theatre in downtown Springfield, the ceremony was a celebration of the 2024-2025 high school sports season in southwest Missouri, with the Springfield Sports Commission aided by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. A crowd of more than 700 turned out on a night when Nixa’s Crawford Bassak, Fair Grove’s Cooper Roy and Norwood’s Noah Drake were honored with Inspiration Awards.
Additionally, Fair Grove won the Sports Commission Cup for the top athletics program.
Seiger was All-State in four sports – football, basketball, track and baseball. He combined for more than 3,000 total yards as Fair Grove’s quarterback, leading the Eagles to a Class 2 state runner-up finish. He finished the school year by leading the Eagles baseball team to a state runner-up, with Seiger playing shortstop.
Daniels was All-State in volleyball and basketball, and also played softball and competed in track & field, in which she qualified for state.
The Fair Grove Volleyball team was 41-0 and repeated as state champion, and the Nixa football team was 13-1, clearly the best in southwest Missouri as it finished runner-up in Class 6.
Fair Grove High School won the Sports Commission Cup as the best overall athletics program in southwest Missouri, by virtue of a points system based on postseason success.
