Teams sponsored by the Kansas City Royals and Missouri Equipment Leasing won their respective rounds in the Kansas City Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Hillyard, Inc., on Tuesday at Tiffany Greens Golf Club.
The event, a fundraiser for the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, saw the Royals team of Jeff Kinnison, Shane Montgomery, Jon Reed and Jay Pietig fire a 58 to win A Flight in the morning round.
The B Flight morning round was won by Inter-State Studio, which fired a 61 behind Jeff Tilley, Brendan Boise, David Lake and Steve Craighead as well as Frank Boal, a Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductee. The C flight was won by Ingram’s Magazine, which fired a 64 thanks to Joe Sweeney, Connor Sweeney, Robert Sweeney and John Meara.
Meanwhile, the Missouri Equipment Leasing team of Tara Rayle, Brad Wiens and Marty Hoffey – playing with former St. Louis Football Cardinals fullback and MSHOF Hall of Famer Eddie Moss – fired a 55 to win the afternoon round.
The B Flight winning team was OakStar Bank featuring Charles Wooten, John O’Dwyer, Phil Peck and Marshall Blount. It carded a 62.
The C Flight winning team was sponsored by Hillyard, Inc., and featured Michael Thornton, John Durkin, Jon Spence and Eric Johnson. It carded a 65.
