Lynn Nance
Born: September 3, 1942
Granby native Lynn Nance excelled on the Missouri hardwood in high school, at Southwest Baptist College and in the professional ranks with the St. Louis Hawks. Named one of the Top 100 Missouri Athletes of the Century, he went on to become one of the most prolific college basketball coaches in the state’s history. Between serving as head coach for such notable programs as the University of Washington and Iowa State University, he gained national notoriety by leading the 1983-84 Central Missouri State Mules (now University of Central Missouri Mules) to a National Championship. He garnered Kodak National Coach of the Year accolades following the 1984 campaign.
