Len Dawson played 19 years, 13 years with the Chiefs from 1963-1975. At the time of his retirement, Dawson was the first on the list of all-time National Football League passers and was second in the AFC in touchdown passes. Dawson established a pro football record in 1967 with 15 consecutive pass completions against Houston. His best yardage day as a professional came in 1964 with 435 yards passing against Denver.
He led the AFL in passing in 1962, ’64, ’66 and ’68 and was elected the Most Valuable Player in the Chiefs 1969 Super Bowl triumph. The Sporting News named him the AFL Player of the Year in 1962. Len was the Most Valuable Player in the 1969 AFL All-Star game. He was an AFL All-Star six times and played in the 1972 AFC-NFC Pro Bowl game. In 1973, Dawson was voted the NFL Man of the Year.
The MSHOF inducted Dawson in 1994 and honored him as a Legend in 1999.
