Jack Rockwell has had a career in sports medicine that has covered more than 45 years and is easily recognizied as one of the most respected in his field. Because of his injuries as an Army sergeant in World War II, he was inspired to earn a physical therapy degree from the University of Kansas, which prepared him for the many positions he would hold as athletic trainer. He has served in that capacity for several institutions and organizations, including the University of Colorado from 1952 to 1960 and the St. Louis Football Cardinals from 1960 to 1971.

On an international level, he served as head trainer for USA and World Gymnastic Championships, USA Olympic Games and Trials, USA Basketball and the World and America’s Cup and in 1958 was selected to go to the Soviet Union with the US Basketball Team. So successful was his career, that in 1977 he was inducted into the National Atheltic Trainer’s Association Hall of Fame.
