Chuck Shelton
August 16, 1935—February 13, 2020
Rolla native Chuck Shelton was a first team All-State football selection and prep All-American in 1954. He took his football talents to national powerhouse Pittsburgh State University, where he was an All-Conference running back. After many successful years as a head football coach at the high school and junior college levels, Coach Shelton moved up to the Division I coaching ranks. A keen football mind, success followed him to Drake University, Utah State University and the University of the Pacific during a 19 year span. He was honored as a four-time Conference Coach of the Year and a two time NCAA District 6 Coach of the Year.
