Born in Lutie, Missouri, Bonus Frost grew up in Springfield and started playing fast pitch softball at the age of 10. By the age of 18, he was already a star on the Triple A fast pitch circuit.  A fleet, left handed hitting outfielder, Frost played in 14 national tournaments, posting a career batting average of over .300. He was named to the All-America team twice and received an honorable mention four times. He won seven batting championships and was named to the Springfield Triple A fast pitch all-star team all 11 years it was selected.
