Now in his 26th year, Bob Roberts has notched an impressive 871 wins against only 486 losses, a .642 winning percentage. In 1998, while at Atlanta High School, his Lady Hornets captured the state title. Their record that season was a hard fought 31-0. That championship was on the heels of a third place finish the previous two seasons. From Atlanta, Coach Roberts took his coaching skills to the small town of Cairo. In 2007, his girl’s team garnered a fourth place finish at the state contest and won the state title the following year in 2008.
