Bing Devine has been an important figure in professional sports for over 45 years. A native of St. Louis, Devine graduated from University City High School and Washington University before beginning his career in professional sports with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Throughout his professional baseball career, he served two stints as Vice President and General Manager of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals, once from 1958-1964 and again from 1968-1978. During this time, Devine made one of the best trades in history, obtaining Lou Brock, who later became a Hall of Famer.
