Bob Kehoe was born in St. Louis in 1928 and graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1947. Throughout his life, he never stopped participating in his favorite sport, soccer. Kehoe was selected to play on numerous All-Star soccer teams to compete against foreign teams from England, Scotland, France and Germany. In 1964, he was selected to play for the United States World Cup team and was the captain of that team in 1965. Professional soccer began in 1967 and two years later, Bob was the first NASL coach to field a starting eleven made up entirely of American born players, most of whom were born and raised in St. Louis.
