After 52 years of practicing optometry in St. Joseph, Doc now has a little more time to practice his passion, sporting clays. In 1990, Harold taught himself how to shoot sporting clays, regarded as the most difficult shooting sport in the world. Since that time, his shooting accomplishments are many. In 1992, he served as the Seniors’ Team Captain on Team USA during the World Championships and earned a bronze medal, becoming the first American to medal in world competition. He has also earned 17 state titles and 3 state championships outright, all of this while in his sixties.
