DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe 2024-2025 high school sports year in southwest Missouri
  will be celebrated again this summer\, as the 13th annual Sports Commissi
 on Awards presented by Elliott Lodging are set for Tuesday\, June 17 at on
 e of the coolest venues in the Ozarks – the Gilllioz Theatre in downtown
  Springfield.\n\nThe event is run by the Springfield Sports Commission\, w
 ith the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame assisting for an eighth consecutive y
 ear. In essence\, nearly 200 student-athletes and 10 teams will be recogni
 zed during a program that begins at 7 PM on June 17 at the Gillioz\, 325 P
 ark Central Square East.\n\nFinalists for fall and winter sports also were
  unveiled in the spring  and can be found at sportscommissionawards.org a
 nd mosportshalloffame.com\, and staff from both organizations will be in t
 ouch with athletic directors\, coaches and parents.\n\nHere’s a rundown:
 \n\n 	A total of 32 categories will feature the top athletes and teams fro
 m across southwest Missouri during the current school year\, with each nom
 inee chosen by a selection committee.\n 	A video announcing the finalists 
 in each sport will be shown.\n 	Each winner in the various categories will
  receive a trophy honoring their achievements.\n 	The printed program will
  include athletes’ accomplishments.\n 	Tickets: General admission reserv
 ed tickets are $35\, and premium seating up front is $100. Additionally\, 
 three sections of elite box seats are available as sponsorships – a four
 -seat box is $2\,000 and includes a full-page ad in the printed program\, 
 while two six-seat boxes are $2\,500 each and also include full-page ad in
  the printed program. Associate sponsors are $1\,500\, include a full-page
  ad and four seats. Tickets can be ordered through the Gillioz\, at gillio
 ztheatre.com\, or at sportscommissionawards.org.\n 	This year's event does
  not feature a sit down meal. Concessions will be available at the theatre
 . Downtown Springfield offers an array of dining options. Visit sportscom

 hletes will be recognized in tennis\, golf\, swimming and diving\, cross c
 ountry\, softball\, soccer\, volleyball\, football\, wrestling\, basketbal
 l\, track and field\, and baseball. Sports offered to girls and boys are s
 plit into their respective categories.\n\nFootball has finalists for offen
 sive skill positions\, linebackers &amp\; defensive backs\, and linemen. W
 restling will include lower weights and upper weights. A category for emer
 ging sports will include bass fishing\, bowling\, esports\, stunt\, archer
 y/target sports and boys volleyball\, which is now a MSHSAA-sanctioned var
 sity sport. Additionally\, the SCAs will recognize the Spirit Awards featu
 ring the top marching band\, cheerleading team and dance squad.\n\nAdditio
 nally\, the Sports Commission Awards also will feature finalists for Teams
  of the Year and Athletes of the Year. The SCAs also will highlight Inspir
 ation Awards.\n\nFor the second year\, the Sports Commission Cup will be p
 resented to the top athletics program in the area. The Cup recognizes th
 e achievements of all MSHSAA sanctioned sports with a scoring system that 
 awards points based on team success in the Championship.\n\nAll finalists 
 are chosen by a selection committee. Spring sports will be announced in th
 e coming weeks.\n\n“We are excited to honor our area athletes in a new a
 nd unique setting at the historic Gillioz Theatre in downtown Springfield\
