Teams sponsored by White River Valley Electric Foundation, Jack Henry & Associates and the News-Leader all took top honors in their respective rounds of the Springfield Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Great Southern Bank, held Sunday and Monday at the Highland Springs Country Club.
The White River Valley team of Chris Hamon, P.D. Kircher, Adam Cummings and Jarrod Campbell won Sunday’s A Flight with a 53 on Sunday, the first of a three-round tournament and fundraiser for the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
Two former St. Louis Football Cardinals and recent Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductees led the other two A Flight winners Monday, both firing 55s:
Former Cardinals fullback Eddie Moss guided Jack Henry and Associates in winning the morning A Flight, with the team featuring Ben Tummons, Adam Harris, Dustin Edge and Jeff Rogler. Former Cardinals linebacker Eric Williams led the News-Leader to win the afternoon A Flight, with the team featuring Jason Whitesell, Larry McWhirter and Doug Poage.
On Sunday, the SRC Logistics-sponsored team of Gary Goetz, Matt Burtin, Mike White and Vaughn Henson won B Flight with a 64, while the Heart of America Beverage Company-sponsored team of Ryan Marquess, Ryan Wheat, Rick Mcamis and Chad Bryant won C Flight with a 67.
In Monday’s morning round, the Celebrity Limo team of Dave Henderson, Calvin Budd, Dan Stevens and Randy Newman won B Flight with a 61, while a Bryan Properties team featuring former University of Missouri and St. Louis Football Cardinals standout Mel Gray, Mark Richard, Steve Smith, John Signaigo and Bill Yonker won C Flight with a 67.
In Monday’s afternoon round, the Hiland Dairy team of Rick Beaman, Terry Mitchell, Mark Stahlman and Heath Keller won B Flight with a 61, while the Midwest Rug team of Ron Edwards, Mike McCoy, Rick Edwards and Ron Walters won C Flight by firing a 66.
