Winners announced in KC Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Hillyard, Inc.

Teams sponsored by Price Cutter Supermarkets and a Jim Gamble-sponsored team won the morning and afternoon A Flights of the Kansas City Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Hillyard, Inc., held Tuesday (April 25) at Tiffany Greens Golf Club.

The Price Cutter team, featuring former big-league pitcher Scott Bailes, fired a 41. The team included Lance Cowell, Michael Vincent and Kevin Ward. The morning round also saw Hillyard teams win the B and C Flights.

The B Flight winning team featured former University of Missouri standout Chase Coffman, whose group featured Rafe Evans, Mike Medina and Gene Gallimore. The team fired a 62. The C Flight champion featured former Kansas City Royals pitcher Al Fitzmorris and included Anna Johnson, Travis Hux and Larry Dial.

In morning games’ long-drive competition, Kevin Ward won the 44-and-younger category, while Michael Vincent and PD Kircher won the 45 to 59 and 60-and-older groups, respectively. Closest to the pin winners were Todd Sears on No. 4 and Michael Thornton on No. 15.

Meanwhile, a Jim Gamble team won the A Flight afternoon round, firing a 54. The group featured Steve Nash, Chad Battison, Whit Plankett and Jeff Elliott.

Winning B Flight with a score of 60 was the team of Bob Roth and Friends. It featured Jim Roth, Paul Bainter, Guy Humphrees and Both Roth. Winning C Flight was Federal Protection, which fired a 62. It included former big-leaguer Bobby Dernier along with Chris Balla, Jerry O’Connor and Cord Zucht.

In the afternoon long-drive competition, Jason Wood won the 44-and-younger division while Tony Guy and Gary Wood won the 45 to 59 and 60-and-older divisions, respectively. Frank Vigliaturo won the Closest to the Pin on No. 4, while Gary Wood won it on No. 15.
