Tickets remain available for Enshrinement Sunday

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement Ceremonies presented by Killian Construction continues to accept ticket orders. The event, in which longtime Mizzou Tigers football coach Gary Pinkel will be among the inductees, is Sunday at University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield.

An 11 a.m. reception presented by Meek’s The Builder’s Choice is scheduled at the Hall of Fame, 3861 E. Stan Musial Drive. A 4 p.m. reception will be followed by the dinner and ceremony. Individual tickets are $150, and tables of 10 are $1,500. For tickets, call 417-889-3100.

The Hall will name University of Central Missouri athletic director Jerry Hughes a Missouri Sports Legend.

Pinkel is among the Class of 2016, which also features big-leaguer Jerry Reuss, longtime NFL defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, bull rider L.J. Jenkins, Kansas City Chiefs center Tim Grunhard, U.S. Olympic gymnast Terin Humphrey, St. Louis Football Cardinals linebacker Eric Williams and longtime Kansas City Royals scout Art Stewart.

The Class of 2016 also features Evangel University men’s basketball coach Steve Jenkins, West Plains native and longtime Texas Christian baseball coach Lance Brown, Mizzou Tigers track star Natasha Kaiser-Brown, Missouri Southern men’s basketball coach Robert Corn, St. Louis University High School racquetball coach Joe Koestner, former Missouri State University sports information director Mark Stillwell, The John Burroughs School football coach Jim Lemen and the Bombers football program, and the Mizzou Tigers’ 1966 Sugar Bowl team.

The Hall also will honor Med-Pay, Inc., and Ken Meyer of Meyer Communications with the John Q. Hammons Founder’s Award and the President’s Award, respectively. The Hall also will recognize high school, college and professional athletes with Special Achievement Awards.
