Jodie Adams was born and raised in Springfield, MO. She started playing tennis at age 10 and quickly developed into one of the most outstanding players in Southwest Missouri has ever produced. She went undefeated during her entire high school career at Parkview, in both singles and doubles. Adams then went on to Southwest Missouri State, where she played #1 singles on three teams that advanced to the AIAW Division I National Tournament. After graduation, she won the National Public Parks championship and several Missouri Valley Regional titles. In all, she won over 300 tennis titles during her competitive career.
She is currently employed as Assistant Director for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board with over 29 total years of service.
