Jim Hart, a record setting passer at Southern Illinois University, had an impressive 19 year career in the National Football League. Hart spent 18 of those years with the St. Louis Cardinals and one year with the Washington Redskins. Hart served as the quarterback of the “Cardiac Cardinals” teams from 1966 to 1984. He passed for 2,598 completions, 34,639 yards and 209 touchdowns. He remains ranked among the NFL’s top 10 in three major passing categories.

He was voted the NFC Player of the Year in 1974 and the teams MVP three times.
