Deron Cherry is regarded as one of the finest free safeties to ever play the game of football.  A standout for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1980’s, he recorded 50 career interceptions and holds a share of the National Football League’s record for interceptions in a game with four.

He participated in the Pro Bowl six times and played as a starter in five of those games.  Cherry ranks third in team history with 50 interceptions, trailing only Emmitt Thomas with 58 and Johnny Robinson with 57.  In his final season with the Cheifs, Cherry led the team in both tackles, 116, and interceptions with 4.  In 1995, Cherry was inducted into the Chiefs Ring of Fame.
