Hall mourns passing of St. Louis native, Yankees legend Yogi Berra

Yogi Berra, who grew up in  St. Louis and went on to become a legendary catcher of the New York Yankees, died Tuesday night, the Yankees announced. He was 90.

Berra’s death came 69 years to the day when he made his major-league debut.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame joins with the Berra family, the Yankees and baseball fans everywhere in mourning the passing of one of the most iconic figures in sports history.
