Call it a success: Mizzou Alumni Tiger Ball & Golf

The Mizzou Alumni Association  Tiger Ball & Golf Tournament certainly can be called a success after raising thousands in scholarship dollars.

Final tallies are not yet official, but the two-day event held over Thursday and Friday in Springfield is expected to greatly help the Greater Ozarks Scholarship Fund.

The Tiger Ball, presented by Meyer Farms and KWTO and held at University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, featured an appearance by men’s basketball coach Kim Anderson, and among auction items were St. Louis Cardinals tickets, a scooter and whiskey barrels. The team of Kelly Byrne, Mike Pippin, Tyler Stalker and Chris Zimmerman — with Hogan Land Title — won the championship flight of the Mizzou Golf Tournament presented by Great Southern Bank. The team shot a 54 in the four-person scramble format on Friday at Millwood Golf and Racquet Club.

It was a fun day as senior long drive champion John Cyrus aided golfers with tee shots on No. 12 while hole No. 15 featured a chance to earn scholarship dollars if golfers fell short of reaching the green. Teams also could buy mulligans, with proceeds going to the scholarship fund.

Robert Beezley, Spencer Beezley, Byron Shive and Royce Jackson shot a 61 to win A Flight.

The B Flight champs were the team of John Best, Darrol Cribbs, Todd McCubbin and Ashton Glaser with a score of 64.

Winning C Flight with a 65 was the Jackson Brothers team featuring Nick Branham, Dwane Tawney, Eric Piel and Dewey Cooper.

More scores are expected to be posted at this site.
