The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame would like to congratulate Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder on his 200th career victory, earned Saturday in a 34-19 victory against Kansas.

Snyder, a St. Joseph native and a 2006 inductee of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, was hoisted on his players’ shoulders and carried off the field in Manhattan, Kan. He became the 26th coach in Football Bowl Subdivision history reach 200 wins but only the sixth to accomplish the feat all at one college.

He was gracious in the outpouring of support, as Kansas State showed a video of his career highlights on the stadium video board. Players gave him the game ball.

“Anything good that happens here, there’s more people than you can name that makes it happen,” Snyder was quoted as saying in the Topeka (Kan.) Capital Journal newspaper.
